Conceptually great - although having read a LOT of philosophy in the past few years I am not sure if modular homes (whilst very fashionable) are not an endorsement of the totalitarian system which many of us are keen to escape. Contemporary functionality has taken the place of enduring beauty and whilst I love the idea of village living - somehow I find the refugi.co designs in keeping with the modern paradigm which is about keeping us all in boxes.
As the inventor behind Refugi.Co i guess I can speak to that a bit. Refugi.co is not about form. It about the philosophy behind it. Refugi.co is in fact both material and form agnostic. When the industry uses the term "modular" it just means little else than "prefabricated". When we use the term "netpositive modular" we mean that it is home that can grow. A home that can help you heal and a home that can be your temple. In fact by starting a home small and then being able to add more modules to it, that changes the entire investment dynamics behind homeownership and makes it feasible for everyone to own a home, while not being locked into a tiny shoebox. The only reason its rectangular right now is because that is what people are used to and because its the most practical.

I am interested in investing in all your projects but I look forward to seeing the dome-shaped homes :) You say that the Empress trees grow very quickly so that's why you build with them. I'd like to know if you plan to do the same with hemp in the upcoming presentation.
